Executive Summary

Light & Life Ministries is a community-based organization dedicated to advancing children's education in marginalized communities of Northern Kenya. We focus on providing quality education and life skills to children from the Daasanach, El Molo, and Gabra communities, empowering them to live lives of significance and create positive change in their communities.

Our initial program will support five children with comprehensive educational support, with plans to scale up progressively as resources allow. Through strategic partners such as corporate sponsors, and community stakeholders, we aim to create sustainable educational pathways that honor Biblical or Christian principles while opening doors to opportunity.

Communities We Serve

The Daasanach Community

The Daasanach (also known as the Marille or Geleba) are an ethnic group inhabiting parts of Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. Often referred to as "The Lost Tribe," the Daasanach have faced severe and sustained droughts for many years, threatening their traditional pastoral lifestyle and limiting educational opportunities for their children.

The El Molo Community

With just over 1,000 people split between two fishing villages on the shores of Lake Turkana, the El Molo are Kenya's smallest tribe. This ethnic group mainly inhabits the northern part of Kenya, concentrated in the Marsabit District. This long-marginalized community is slowly being absorbed by their neighbors, the Samburu and Turkana tribes, making educational interventions crucial for preserving their unique cultural heritage.

The Gabra Community

The Gabra are a Cushitic ethnic group who mainly inhabit the Moyale and Marsabit regions of northern Kenya and the highlands of southern Ethiopia. Their semi-nomadic lifestyle presents unique challenges for consistent educational access.
